What a joy! A few days ago, we celebrated the grade of ninety children in the “Ethics and Values” course. Eight of our volunteers were in charge of giving the lessons to the group of students. The classes were given at the foundation's actual headquarters. The space was reduced, but when it comes to children learning something valuable for their lives, it is important to make everything work to give them the best.
We want to keep teaching the kids of our community different courses and classes, and the parents have told us how happy they are because their sons and daughters are spending the after-school time learning things that improve them in so many ways.
But if we want to give them a better service, we need to improve everything as much as possible. Starting with the methods of teaching, the visuals help, and even the center where classes are given. We recognize the number of kids adding to the programs is growing, which is why the foundation wants to purchase this center, in order to have not just the permissions, but the faculty to expand the place, make more space, so more children can come to the classes, and even allow their parents to visit them and experience the beautiful work that is taking place in the hearts of their kids.
We desire to own this center and turn it into a great building—a new and better child care center—where children of the Olaya Herrera neighborhood and other sectors of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, can join and enjoy all the activities, courses, classes, training programs and more things we hold for the community.
We know this is not just a desire or a dream; it can become a reality, but we need support. So we invite you, our dear and respected friend with a kind heart reading this report, to be part of this project. To change the lives of lots of children and their families. To make a difference in a place needing help and to give the best for the children of Cartagena de Indias.
