Summary

Rare Gem Talent School is a day and boarding school with over 200 children who have learning difficulties and other special needs. The school currently is on a rented compound that has insufficient classrooms that do not give the children a conducive environment for learning. This project is aimed at constructing permanent classrooms for children with Dyslexia on the acquired land. The new classrooms will provide the environment and the necessary resources for multi sensory learning and skills

Challenge

The current school has become too small to accommodate the growing number of children. The classrooms available are small, few, old, and congested. Sometimes we are forced to combine children of different classes in one room. In other cases, to ensure social distancing at this time of COVID-19, children learn in shifts. While one class learns outside, another class occupies the room. - The current school has no play area, which is key for growth and development

Solution

We have acquired a bigger place, where we have started construction of the new school. This project will enable us to, - Construct spacious classrooms, meeting the COVID-19 protocols and there will be enough classrooms which will accommodate all the children and new admissions. - The school will have facilities like a library, an art center, kitchen area and have a dining hall where children can have their meals. - Separate washrooms for the boys and girls. - A physiotherapy center.

Long-Term Impact

The project will provide room for the growth of the school. We will be in a position to admit more children with dyslexia and other learning difficulties and special needs because there is room for them to learn in the new, bigger classrooms. Will be able to nature the children talents through the art center and playground for sports.
