Brief Report on STP Activities (September–December 2025)
From September to December 2025, Save The Pastoralists Kenya (STP) carried out a series of community-focused environmental activities. The organization conducted educational and awareness training on the effects of climate change, equipping local communities with practical strategies to address its impacts. During these sessions, STP urged community members to stop charcoal burning and the cutting of trees along riverine areas for commercial purposes, practices that have severely damaged the riverbank ecosystem.
STP also engaged the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and the Kenya Forest Research Institute (KEFRI) to support technical training on conserving and protecting both riverine and rangeland areas. As part of this collaboration, the institutions were requested to supply at least 2,000 indigenous tree seedlings for replanting in degraded zones.
With adequate funding, STP plans to expand its restoration and conservation work across the rangeland and riverine ecosystems as previously proposed.
