In the phase of declining ecosystem services such as declining water resources against a backdrop of changing environmental and climatic conditions, Green Care has engaged youth in community tree planting campaigns. We are grateful for GlobalGiving and all the donors who have been supporting us in our endeavours. Some community volunteers have embarked on planting over 500 eco-friendly trees in the Shisong community watershed. Some of the trees planted will not only enhance water retention in the ground to improve water yields, but will also be exploited in the future for medicinal purposes and apiculture (bee farming). These trees will also enhance carbon sequestration in the phase of climate change. One of the community volunteers, 19 year old Rita reiterated that she is committed to paint the community green by planting more environmentally friendly trees. This tree planting campaign in community watersheds will be extended to neighbouring communities of Mbuluf, Kingomen, Bamngam and Mbah. We remain grateful for all over donors through the GlobalGiving platform. Thank you.
