This semester, our technology integration project continued growing. The tutors in the Comayagua and Yoro regions of Nicaragua have been testing out the Kolibri platform in their classrooms, reaching about 900 youth. The youth are very motivated by the integration of technology in the classroom!
In mid-June 2023, our Digital Education Trainer traveled to Honduras to provide a follow up training session for 28 tutors and 2 SAT technical staff members in the department of Comayagua. The tutors were able to put the platform into practice in the hands-on training session and explored the contents of "Fabretto Educa," our online learning platform with curated resources for rural secondary education in Central America. The tutors have taken advantage of contents from Khan Academy and the Fabretto Educa channel to enhance learning of mathematics, science, and communication skills in their classrooms. The tutors also provided valuable feedback on how to better organize Fabretto Educa to fit the needs of the Honduran curriculum.
Coming up, we will be providing follow up training to the tutors in Yoro who were trained the first quarter of the year, and exploring new regions of Honduras to continue expanding the program. Thank you for your support of this project that is paving the way to access to technology for youth in some of the hardest-to-reach communities in Honduras!
