Dear donors,
Our 3-month long journey with GlobalGiving is gradually coming to an end. It was for sure a laborious but fulfilling process. Even though the most of our network is located in Brazil, we were able to attract one Scottish donor, which came as a nice surprise.
We aired our fundraising campaign on November 29th, the day of Giving Tuesday. The 50% matching fund provided by the Gates Foundation served as a great motivation and we were able to start our campaign on a high note. It was an extremely tiring day, but rewarding as well.
Currently, we are working hard to implement productive groups in the prisons of our own state, Santa Catarina. Since the start of our project, the situation of women prisoners in Brazil has gotten worse: there is now no opportunity for them to work, which makes Conexão Liberdade more important and urgent.
The donations collected on GlobalGiving will be used to purchase machinery and materials for women to start production as soon as possible. Our next step is to build a platform so sales made can be leveraged.
To all our donors: thank you very much for everything! You are the one who made everything possible and your donation is helping us to build a better and fairer Brazil.
Sincerely,
Fernanda de Mello Goss
Founder
