Dear donor,

During the Covid19 pandemic, to help our scholarship students with distance education, we supplied notebook computers and tablets to many all over Turkey. Having given them equipment, we also prepared on-line educational programs and revised our computer coding program for on-line applications and thus took this opportunity to bring together many students from all over Turkey..

One such program was named “Young starfishes” and aimed at teaching girls receiving Cydd high school scholarships, various 21st century skills which are not included in the public school curriculum. To prepare the contents of this program we cooperated with other professional teams and NGO’s and devised different on-line modules for each level of high school students.

The final module of this program will be “coding “ and it will be given by 30 CYDD trainers to 750 girls from high school using “app inventor” in 13 different classes of various levels. For this last module, girls will first be tested for their existing coding knowledge and classes will then be formed mixing girls from all high school levels. The coding modules will last for four weeks starting mid February.

In the meantime, we plan for hybrid courses and look forward to reopening our coding classrooms in the CYDD activity centers. This means we will be needing more computers for these centers and rely on your support as always. Thank you for supporting us in helping young minds to become contemporary individuals in today’s technology driven world.

Gratefully yours,
