This project will reduce illiteracy level from 75% among the Pokot Community living in Baringo County in Kenya; which will finally solve the problem of cattle rustling and inter community conflicts where the Pokots are the aggressors due to high illiteracy level. Plan to have Partners and stakeholders meeting at the inception, Strengthening and capacity building of Women and Elders on Education Importance are key meetings geared towards compulsory education for children is successful.
Baringo County has been affected highly by Insecurity due to inter Communities conflict between the Tugen & Pokot, and Ilchamus & Pokot communities. The Pokot community are the aggressors where they still practice cattle rustling and attack their neighbors because of high illiteracy level which stands at 75%.
Compulsory Education to all the children by working with the administration in a campaign of ensuring every child is taken to school will be a long-term solution towards inter community conflicts and cattle rustling in Baringo.
Compulsory Education Campaign will ensure that all the Children will be taken to school and after Fifteen Years,most of the Pokots children will be competing for jobs opportunities unlike now where they are looking after the animals which belongs to their parents.
