Thank you for supporting our “Providing Dignified Births in Mexico” campaign in GlobalGiving. We’re getting closer to our goal of delivering babies in a respectful way with safe spaces and providing the best attention to mothers in Chiapas, Mexico.
We can’t believe it has already been nine months since the beginning of this campaign! Time flies, for sure, and we are so happy to be on this journey next to you.
In early March, the Construction team finished the remodeling activities of Casa Materna Siltepec, that consist in – consultation and birthing rooms, in addition a delivery room has been built and painted. The facility now has water and electricity services, and will be fully equipped soon with delivery beds, desks, lockers and other supplies.
The staff of Siltepec’s Health Center has received trainings in obstetric emergencies for better attention to patients at Casa Materna. Three staff members from Compañeros En Salud are now working at the health center to become familiar with the process and protocols of the facility.
It is estimated for the new Casa Materna to officially open its doors to the public in mid-June.This first stage on the journey for equity and quality in healthcare is almost over, but we have a long way to go to ensure dignified care for women in Siltepec. Thanks to you, we’re getting closer to our purpose every day.
