Uganda has the second youngest population in the world with over 83% youth unemployment which has escalated violence, drug abuse among other problems. Since 2011 we have been reaching Youth in schools and slums with an engaging approach in positive social action promoting entrepreneurship, music and sports for peace. We are drumming up for Support to enable us empower 200 Youth every year through equipping them with skills in tailoring, shoe making, baking, hair dressing and entrepreneurship
Youth unemployment is a major challenge that escalates violence, crime, poverty and loss of esteem. in Uganda it stands at 83%. In one of the biggest suburbs in Jinja district where we work so many youth have lost hope resorting to drug abuse and crime to earn a living, for the young women sex trade is the available option. This project is aimed at empowering 200 youth every year at our community empowerment centre with technical and business skills to enable them create or access employment
The Community Empowerment Centre will equip 200 youth annually with vocational skills such as tailoring, shoe making, hair dressing, arts and craft, bakery, carpentry and computer on top of business management skills. we provide mentorship and help these youth form saving trust groups to help finance and grow their businesses as well as employing others.
The Project will empower 200 youth out of unemployment through hands-on skills as well fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship
