In the first quarter of 2025, JOB-ABLED NPC made significant progress in creating inclusive job opportunities for people with disabilities. Key highlights include:
App Progress & Reach:
JOB-ABLED’s job placement app continues to grow, with 17,973 users and a major upgrade underway to become a fully standalone platform, aiming for 200,000 sign-ups.
Recruitment Impact:
Active recruitment for one of their largest employer partners began, showcasing JOB-ABLED's growing role as a trusted bridge between companies and verified candidates with disabilities.
Recycling Project Expansion:
Currently processing 5 tons/month, with a target of 20 tons, the recycling initiative is active at special schools, including new hubs at Ligstraal and Alta du Toit School. The “Trash to Treasure” programme lets learners earn school fee credits through recycling.
Success Story:
Joshua, a former school leaver, was trained through the recycling plant and successfully employed at MyPlas (Ltd) Pty in April—demonstrating the real-world impact of JOB-ABLED’s exit pathways.
Jobshadow Programme:
In partnership with McDonald’s, 64 learners participated in hands-on jobshadowing, helping youth transition from school to employment.
Upcoming Events:
Planning is underway for the annual #IAMABLE Fun Run in September, hosted with Alta du Toit School, to raise awareness and celebrate the abilities of people with disabilities.
