JOB-ABLED is a South African Non-Profit Organisation dedicated to connecting people with disabilities to meaningful employment opportunities and sustainable economic participation.
We exist to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity — ensuring that individuals with disabilities are not excluded from the workforce, but instead empowered, supported, and placed in environments where they can thrive.
Our work focuses on three core pillars:
• Employment & Placement
• Skills Development & Exit Planning
• Sustainable Community-Based Projects
Special Projects
1. School-Based Recycling Hubs
JOB-ABLED has developed a cumulative, volume-based recycling model implemented at special needs schools.
These recycling hubs:
Provide vocational training to learners
Create structured work environments within schools
Generate income for schools
Support families through voucher systems
Prepare learners for future employment
The model is designed for sustainability. Schools manage the plant operationally, while JOB-ABLED provides setup, training, national data tracking, financial distribution systems, and ongoing support.
This initiative transforms waste into opportunity — creating both environmental and social impact.
2. Vegetable Garden Initiative
In addition to recycling hubs, JOB-ABLED supports school-based vegetable gardens as a practical skills development and sustainability project.
The vegetable gardens:
Teach agricultural and life skills
Provide food security support
Promote nutrition education
Create potential income streams
Encourage responsibility and teamwork
These gardens serve both as a therapeutic and vocational platform, helping learners develop practical skills while contributing to school sustainability.
Community Impact Model
JOB-ABLED operates as a structured hub that:
Develops partnerships with schools, corporates, and government stakeholders
Tracks data through a national electronic system
Manages voucher systems and financial distribution
Supports long-term programme sustainability
Encourages collaboration between municipalities, schools, and private sector partners
Our model is designed to be scalable, measurable, and transparent.
Our Vision
To create a South Africa where people with disabilities are fully included in the economy — not through charity, but through structured opportunity, skills development, and sustainable employment.
