The LEAD Coalition of Bay County partners with Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church to actively support and invest in small businesses through initiatives like the Cornerstone Trust Micro Loan program. Micro-loans can make a significant impact on the growth and sustainability of small businesses, especially when provided by community-focused organizations.

In October, three business owners were awarded a micro-loans of up to $5,000. This kind of support not only provides financial assistance but also signifies a collaborative effort between local institutions and the community to promote entrepreneurship and stimulate economic growth. It's a positive step toward building a stronger and more resilient local economy. It's heartening to see the direct impact these investments have on small businesses. A photographer will use her loan to enroll in additional photography classes, indicating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. An event planner will use her loan to purchase supplies and do marketing. An early childhood education consultant, an experienced education manager with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry, will consult with daycares to achieve mastery in service delivery. 

The Cornerstone Program, with its six-week workshop focusing on essential business skills, played a crucial role in empowering these entrepreneurs. It's not just about providing financial support but also equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary for sustained success.

These stories highlight the positive outcomes that can arise when local organizations collaborate to support small businesses. The ripple effects of such initiatives contribute not only to the individual success of these entrepreneurs but also to the overall economic well-being of the community.
