Thanks to your continuous support, our community center Prostor(i)ja keeps growing into a lively place where people and ideas connect. Each month, around 500 citizens of all ages join activities organized by 36 civil society organizations that promote human rights, democracy, art and culture, volunteering, and active citizenship. Your donations make this possible!
What happened in the past few months?
Between June and mid-September 2025 alone, 81 different activities were carried out at Prostor(i)ja, gathering a total of 1,623 participants. These ranged from:
Who is behind these activities?
A number of organizations and groups regularly use Prostor(i)ja: Carpe Diem, DrONe, Society of Psychologists, UOSIKAZU, Chess Club, Osmica Mountaineering Society, Karlovac Developers, Antifascist Association, Bruno Gröning Society, Small Animal Breeders Association Champion, Women’s group STEP, Cultural Society Slovenian Home Karlovac, Jak kao Jakov, Primary school Zakanje, Zamah Foundation, Federation of Associations of Persons with Disabilities in Karlovac County, Pensioners' Association Karlovac, Association for ME, Dysautonomia and Fibromyalgia Sufferers, LAG Vallis Colapis, as well as many individual citizens.
The steady growth in the number of users clearly shows how valuable this community space is for Karlovac.
Strengthening our organization
Alongside activities in the center, our president took part in the Social Innovation and Management Programme, a program focused on building fundraising and philanthropic skills for non-profits. Through 11 sessions of education and mentoring, we gained new knowledge on cooperating with the private sector, management, promotion, and measuring impact. Providing capacity-building and transnational networks through comprehensive programs, community-led events, and a Master's degree in Social Innovation and Management. It aims to broaden participants' knowledge and skills to manage their organizations, enabling them to understand and manage the entire process of developing an idea and implementing a project.
