Let's give citizens space to act

From February to May, 34 civil society organizations carried out their activities in the community center „Prostorija“ - educational activities for children and young people, workshops, trainings for youth workers, chess tournaments, film screenings, workshops aimed at parenting support, thematic lectures, quizzes, choir rehearsals and drama groups, etc. In addition to civil society organizations, the community center was also used by 3 informal groups (drama group, high school students) in this period. The Feel Good club for young people operates in the social center Prostorija, which gathers around 20 young people who design and implement according to the needs of our local community. The Karlovac Chess Club holds training sessions for its members every week, and tournaments are held once a month. On May 9, in cooperation with the City of Karlovac, we organized a round table with representatives of the cities of Cina (Turkey), Vilnius (Lithuania), Karlovac (Croatia) and young people on the topic of the European Union, and thus celebrated Europe Day. We are especially happy when young people organize activities as an informal group, so at the end of May the students of Karlovac High School organized a general knowledge quiz for their peers. We awarded the best 3 teams with educational and useful gifts. The summer is upon us when the activities move outdoors, but we believe that our community center will continue to be full of activities for different beneficiaries.
