The project aims to strengthen community-based prevention and resilience against Ebola Virus Disease. It will implement awareness campaigns, radio broadcasts, and community information sessions to improve public knowledge of transmission routes and prevention measures. The project will also strengthen the capacities of community health volunteers and health facilities to support early detection and rapid response to suspected cases, thereby reducing the risk of disease transmission.
The city of Bukavu is exposed to the risk of Ebola contamination due to its proximity to the Miti-Murhesa health zone, which has already recorded cases, as well as the high mobility of the population. Low levels of awareness, misinformation, and limited access to reliable information reduce the adoption of preventive measures and the prompt reporting of suspected cases. Preventive response capacities remain insufficient, increasing community vulnerability.
The project "Community Prevention and Resilience Against Ebola" will address the risk of Ebola in Bukavu by strengthening prevention, awareness, and community resilience. It will conduct information campaigns, radio broadcasts, and awareness sessions to improve knowledge on transmission and prevention. It will also provide prevention kits to communities and health facilities, while strengthening local capacities for detection, reporting, and rapid response to suspected cases.

It will improve community knowledge and behaviors through awareness activities, media outreach, and training, and will provide protection kits to reduce exposure risks. Strengthening the capacities of volunteers and health facilities will enable early detection and rapid response, thereby limiting the spread of the disease.
