Project Title: Comfort to 85 Bedridden Parkinson’s Patients

Date March 24, 2026

During this reporting period, the organization continued its efforts to raise USD 5,000 to provide essential support to bedridden Parkinson’s patients. However, we regret to report that no new funds were raised through the GlobalGiving platform during this cycle. While this is a challenging outcome, it reflects the broader economic difficulties currently affecting charitable giving both globally and locally.

Despite the lack of new funding, the situation of bedridden Parkinson’s patients in Ethiopia continues to worsen. Many patients and their families are facing severe hardships due to rising medication costs, limited access to sanitary materials, lack of full-time caregivers, and declining household incomes. Essential supplies such as medication, nutritious food, and adult diapers remain unaffordable for many, increasing the risk of serious health complications.

In this reporting period, due to the absence of new financial resources, the organization was only able to provide very limited support through small-scale community contributions. As a result, many patients did not receive the level of assistance they urgently need.

Our partner’s youth clubs are ongoing to mobilize resources and raise awareness in connection with World Parkinson’s Day. These planned activities are expected to generate much-needed support and visibility for the challenges faced by Parkinson’s patients in Ethiopia.

The support from the GlobalGiving platform remains extremely important to our work. It provides not only a vital channel for fundraising but also global visibility and credibility that helps us connect with donors and partners. We remain hopeful that, with continued engagement and awareness, future campaigns will lead to improved fundraising outcomes.

Despite the current constraints, the Parkinson Patients Support Organization Ethiopia remains firmly committed to its mission. We will continue to seek new partnerships, strengthen community engagement, and explore innovative fundraising strategies to expand our support and improve the quality of life for bedridden Parkinson’s patients and their families.

We sincerely appreciate GlobalGiving and its community for their continued support and for providing a platform that enables organizations like ours to reach those who care.
