Dear Donors,

Time flies, half a year has passed since 2023. Hope you all doing well. It is time to share our progress with all of you. This progress report covers the first and second quarter activities in 2023.

First quarter: We organized 4 clean-up activities on Jan. to Mar. at Shanghai, and 4 coastal cleanups at Shenzhen and Haikou. In total, 234 volunteers and 21 staff cleaned up 722.05kg of marine debris.

Second quarter: From Apr. to 9th June, We organized 7 clean-up activities on Shanghai, and 1 coastal cleanup at Xiamen. In total, 245 volunteers and 16 staff cleaned up 691.14kg of marine debris.

Thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work. We also hope that after the events, everyone can join the waste reduction at source and reduce the use of single-use plastic products, so as to reduce the pollution to the ocean.

Thanks again for supporting us and we wish to hear from you. If you have any suggestions, please contact us: info@renduocean.org.

Best Regards.

Times fly, this is the third quarter for 2022. We appreciate all the donations from your kindness behavior to support our works, by sharing our progress with all of you. Due to COVID-19, we didn't get much chance to organize local clean-up activities in Shanghai. However, since we also organize clean-up programs national-wide, we managed to keep making contributions during this quarter.

First of all, we organized nine clean-up activities on Jul. to Sept. at Shanghai. In total, 289 volunteers and 26 staff cleaned up 759kg of marine debris. It is amazing to see so many environmental enthusiasts gathering together to clean up the coast and promote environmental changes. We wish everyone who sees them could take a min to think about how to prevent waste from entering the ocean environment.

Secondly, we organized national-wide clean-up activities during International Coastal Cleanup Day (From 10th Sept. to 25th Sept.). In total, 4936 volunteers from 36 cities organized 123 clean-up activities and cleaned up 8.71 tons of marine debris. Many volunteers said that they have never thought about the severity of the marine debris problem until they started cleaning up the coastline. And they wish more people could be aware of the problem and develop an environmental mindset through participating in such events.

We want to thank you again for your donation. We could not achieve the above results and raise environmental awareness of the public without your help.

In the last quarter, we received many donations and each of them is significant support to our work. Thank you for your kindness and we wish to share our progress with all of you.  Due to COVID-19 and the lockdown of Shanghai, we didn't get much chance to organize local clean-up activities in Shanghai. However, since we also organize clean-up programs national-wide, we managed to keep making contributions during this quarter.

First of all, we organized three national-wide clean-up activities on Jan. Mar. and May. 40 teams joined in and cleaned up 45 sites (sum up to 14750 square meters) in 30 cities. In total, 1277 volunteers and 268 staff cleaned up 1965kg of marine debris. It is amazing to see so many environmental enthusiasts gathering together to clean up the coast and promote environmental changes. We wish everyone who sees them could take a min to think about how to prevent waste from entering the ocean environment.

Secondly, we organized national-wide clean-up activities during World Environment Day (From 3rd Jun. to 26th Jun.). In total, 9540 volunteers from 41 cities organized 183 clean-up activities and cleaned up 10.48 tons of marine debris. Many volunteers said that they have never thought about the severity of the marine debris problem until they started cleaning up the coastline. And they wish more people could be aware of the problem and develop an environmental mindset through participating in such events.

Overall, this is a sour-sweet quarter. We want to thank you again for your donation. We could not achieve the above results and raise environmental awareness of the public without your help.

Despite all the unforunate things that happened recently, the spring is coming, bringing hope to the year of 2022. We wish everything has gone well so far and are becoming better because of our hard work.

We released our year report of 2021 last month and here are some key results that we wish you to know. In 2021, we have organized or co-organized 1002 coastal cleanups, attracted 29232 volunteers, and cleaned up 104.7 tons of marine litter. We successfully organized national coastal cleanup activities during the World Oceans Day, the World Environment Day, and the International Coastal Cleanup Day. Over 17,000 Volunteers from 62 cities participated in these events and cleaned up more than 28 tons of marine litter.

Now I wish to share some recent info with you. Beacuse of the rainy and chilly weather, we have only organized 2 cleanups in the past 2 monthes, but 4 more are comming in the March, and a lot more are expected during the summer.  Please keep following us and ask us anything via email (info@renduocean.org). I will share more with you later in the next report!
