Clothes to many of us are just things we put on our back for a short while, when still in fashion then without a thought, throw out when not suitable anymore, but to our entrepreneurs second hand clothing means an income that enables many families to survive.
We continue to scout for second hand clothing at a cheaper rate so we can enable our entrepreneurs to earn a profit. We have had three new active entrepreneurs join us after attending the training sessions we host every month. Lydia, Itumeleng and Alice could hardly wait after the training to receive their stock of clothes. You could see in their eyes that this opportunity was their only chance to earn an income, for them it was that glimse of hope.
Itumeleng had to take three taxis to get to our training session but she was determined to get to our offices because she heard a friend tell her about this opportunity that Future Families gives to unemployed members of the community. Not only does this opportunity provide income but it also provides the entrepreneurs a sense of purpose in life and earns them some respect among their peers.
Word is certainly spreading and slowly but surely entrepreneurs are being created and lives are being changed.
