During the rainy season in Malawi Pump Aid's building projects are put on hold, as the level of groundwater is very high. By building only in the dry season, when the groundwater level is significantly low we ensure that when each well is dug or deepened the water table is at its lowest, providing communities with access to clean water all year round.
We are currently identifying sites for our pump building programme in 2012. To date this year we have identified over 80 sites and depending on funding we will be building a minimum of 300 Water Pumps in Malawi in 2012.
With your support we can install an Elephant Pump on an identified site once the rainy season is over.
