Clean Water for Families in Sumatra supports communities with limited access to safe water. Many families struggle to meet daily needs such as drinking, cooking, and hygiene due to unreliable water sources. Through sustainable water facilities, this program aims to improve health, living conditions, and community resilience. Every contribution helps provide long-term access to clean and safe water for families in need.
Many communities in Sumatra continue to struggle with inadequate access to safe and clean water. In some areas, families must travel long distances to collect water, while available sources are often unsafe for consumption and increase the risk of waterborne diseases. This situation affects family health, reduces productivity, and disrupts children's education, as many spend valuable time fetching water instead of attending school or studying.
Led by Human Initiative, an experienced humanitarian organization, this project provides access to clean water through boreholes and supporting water facilities in underserved communities. Working with local partners and communities, it identifies priority areas, builds safe water sources, and supports local management and maintenance. This ensures families gain sustainable and reliable access to clean water for daily needs.
This project helps communities secure long-term access to clean water, one of the most essential human needs. Over time, it is expected to reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases, improve hygiene and overall health, and support better educational and economic outcomes. By providing sustainable water sources, the program strengthens community resilience and creates a foundation for healthier, more productive, and self-reliant lives.
