Thank you for your support of our efforts to make sure the orphans at God's Littlest Angels have clean water to drink. The health of so many of our children is extremely fragile when they come in our gates. Having clean water for them to drink, for our staff to cook with and for the nannies to mix formula with makes a huge difference in the lives and the health of the children. On a daily basis, you are helping the children at GLA live and grow healthy.
In most first world countries, getting clean water is not a big issue. In Haiti, it is literally a life and death battle and it is one that needs to be fought every single day. We have, on average, 17 water trucks delivering water every week. That means that most days, it's two to three trucks on that day. And then it all has to be run through our water filtration system - otherwise the water that gets delivered would make our children sick, many of them would get sick with illnesses that they would never recover from. By helping us provide clean water, you are saving lives in Haiti.
I'll continue to keep you informed on how our children are doing. We are working on a well project at our new orphanage site near Ft. Jacques Haiti so that we can get clean water more economically. I'll keep you informed on how that works. So far, the heavy heavy rock has been more than the drilling equipment in Haiti can handle and we haven't been able to get to water yet. That means that for the foreseeable future we're going to need to continue to bring water in by truck and then run it through our filtration system so that it is safe for our children.
Every day, clean water helps our kids have a chance at a life with a future. Thank you for being part of that.
