In Bangladesh's climate-battered coastal belt, families drink water laced with salt, arsenic, and bacteria - because they have no alternative. OBHIZATRIK Foundation will install 10 deep tubewells in coastal communities hardest hit by climate change, giving 5,000 people access to clean, safe water for the next 20 years. For $2,200, you can be the reason 500 people stop getting sick from the water they drink.
Coastal communities in Bangladesh face severe shortages of safe drinking water due to salinity, arsenic contamination, and repeated cyclone damage. Many families rely on unsafe water sources that cause waterborne diseases and long-term health risks. Women and girls often walk hours daily to collect water, reducing time for education, work, and family care.
OBHIZATRIK Foundation will install 10 climate-resilient deep tubewells in vulnerable coastal communities of Patuakhali, Khulna, and Satkhira. The tubewells will access safe groundwater below contaminated layers and include elevated platforms, sealed casings, water quality testing, and community maintenance training to ensure long-term access to clean and safe drinking water.
The project will provide safe drinking water to approximately 5,000 people for the next 15-20 years. Families will experience improved health, reduced exposure to arsenic and waterborne diseases, and greater protection during future climate disasters. Women and girls will save significant time previously spent collecting water, allowing more opportunities for education, income generation, and family wellbeing.
