CAMBODIA: There Are a Million Reasons to Give Clean Water...
By Kristen Steele | Director, Education for PW and Project Leader

Over the last year, we have shared stories about the lives you have transformed in Taek Village in Siem Reap, Cambodia by providing access to clean, safe water and hygiene education to those in need. Many young women and children no longer have to spend their days collecting water, and hundreds of children no long suffer from chronic waterborne illnesses such as typhoid, diarrhea, and skin disease.
We set out nearly 18 months ago to transform the lives of children and their families in two villages…and we’re almost there! Over a year ago, an AquaTower and our Water-Health & Hygiene education program was deployed in the first community, Taek Village, and with your continued support and generosity, we can reach our goal and provide clean water and hygiene education into the second community, Chey Village.
There are a million reasons to give clean water…they are just one.

CAMBODIA: Giving the Gift of Water

Happy New Year!
Thanks to all of your kind hearts and generous donations, Planet Water has continued to be able to fundraise in efforts to bring clean, safe water and hygiene education to those in need in Cambodia.
Your support, especially in the month of December, gave the gift of water to so many children in need. Right now, today, over 1,000 children and their family members have seen a dramatic decrease in incidents of chronic diarrhea resulting from drinking safe water and receiving hygiene education.
Do you know what this means?.... a decrease in absenteeism for the school children - allowing for more time spent at school and less time spent at home sick. This also means that young children and women can spend their days getting an education and helping to create economic prosperity in their communities instead of collecting water for hours each day.
Once again, thank you for giving the gift of water - your continued donations and support in these efforts are getting us closer to being able to deploy an AquaTower in Chey Village soon, so that another 1,000 lives can be transformed!

Cambodia: Lives Transformed
By Kristen Steele | Director, Education for PW and Project Leader

From the children at school drinking clean water for the first time, to the young girls and women who no longer have to spend their days collecting water, over 1,000 people’s lives have been transformed thanks to YOU!
For over a year now, since having clean, safe water from the AquaTower and receiving our hygiene education program, the children and families living in Taek Village are no longer suffering from waterborne illness! The AquaTower has made an impact in the lives of so many, especially the young girls who are now able to stay in school instead of spending their days collecting water. The students continue to bring the clean water home from school and their newly learned hygiene practices, such as hand washing, are now becoming habits.
Thank you for your continued donations and help in these efforts, as we are hoping to deploy the AquaTower in Chey Village soon so that another 1,000 lives can be transformed!
