Improving Water Security During Dry Seasons
Dry seasons pose significant challenges for rural communities in Tororo District. Traditional water sources often become scarce, forcing families to travel longer distances in search of water. This situation increases vulnerability and places additional pressure on already limited resources.
During this quarter, project activities focused on strengthening water security and ensuring reliable access throughout the year. Communities received support in protecting water sources and implementing management practices that promote sustainability.
Residents learned strategies for conserving water and preventing unnecessary wastage. Water committees monitored usage patterns and encouraged responsible management of community facilities.
Families reported increased confidence in their ability to access water during periods of low rainfall. Reliable water sources have reduced stress and improved household resilience.
The project's efforts are helping communities prepare for seasonal challenges while ensuring that families maintain access to safe water throughout the year.
