This project will drill, install and repair community water points and educate residents on clean water use, improving health, saving time, and supporting economic growth for underserved villages. Currently, Millions in rural Uganda lack reliable access to clean water, forcing families to walk long distances for unsafe water.
Rural Uganda still faces a serious clean water crisis. About 37.5% of rural residents lack safe water access and must use potentially contaminated sources like shallow wells or streams. Many walk long distances, exposing women and children to health risks and reducing time for school or work. Unsafe water fuels diseases like cholera and diarrhea.
We will build and rehabilitate water systems-deep wells, protected boreholes, and community taps-so rural families can access clean water near home. Alongside construction, we will train communities on water management and hygiene practices to ensure lasting impact and reduce waterborne illnesses.
Access to safe water means better health, fewer waterborne diseases, more time for school and work, and stronger local economies. Clean water empowers communities-especially women and girls-by reducing the time spent collecting water, increasing school attendance, and improving overall quality of life.
