Successful Completion of Water Source Assessments
We are pleased to update our supporters on the continued progress of our water solutions project. During this reporting period, our technical team completed comprehensive water source assessments in several target communities. These assessments were critical in identifying the most suitable locations for new water infrastructure while ensuring long-term sustainability and accessibility.
Community members actively participated in the assessment process by sharing information about existing water challenges and seasonal changes in water availability. Their input helped the project team better understand local needs and prioritize interventions that will have the greatest impact.
The assessments revealed that many households continue to rely on unsafe water sources, particularly during dry seasons when nearby streams and ponds shrink significantly. Women and children remain disproportionately affected, often spending hours each day searching for water. These findings reinforce the urgent need for reliable and safe water solutions.
Based on the assessment results, several sites have been selected for borehole development and rehabilitation of existing water points. Environmental considerations were also reviewed to ensure that new installations will not negatively affect surrounding ecosystems.
In addition to technical evaluations, community meetings were held to discuss project goals and encourage local ownership. Residents expressed enthusiasm and commitment to supporting construction activities and future maintenance efforts.
We appreciate the continued support of our donors. Your contributions are enabling us to take important steps toward providing sustainable access to clean water for vulnerable communities.
