This project will build and install a well with hand pump in Koupamatapid village, a Mbororos settlement at the outskirt of Foumban, Cameroon, providing access to clean and safe drinking water to over 2000 Mbororo women and their families, that rely on dirty streams for drinking water because of lack of support, which impact health, economic and well-being.
There are currently more than 2000 Mbororos living in Koupamatapid and the surrounding neighborhoods at the outskirt of Foumban, Cameroon. These magnificent group of people depend on dirty streams for drinking water, where they share with livestock. The entire Mbororo settlement and neighborhoods residents travel approximately 2Km and are at risk of water born diseases, miscarriages and economic loss because they don't have clean water and carry dirty water on head everyday over long distance.
Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) will build a well and install with hand pump, to provide clean and safe drinking water to Mbororos and their families. Mbororo women and other community members will be trained on water purification, water maintenance and Sanitation kits provided to families and taught to share their knowledge and resources with their neighbors. The project will also provide hands-on training on water conservation and create awareness on health issues and climate change.
The project will provide clean and safe drinking water to over 2000 people, reducing the impact of water born diseases and shape everything from health, economic, education and peaceful community. The project will educate 100 families on water conservation, purification, health and climate issues, allowing them to come out of water poverty and take charge of their future.
