Classrooms for Vulnerable Children in Rural Nepal

Construction  of 14 classrooms and one library have been successfully completed. Presently, one more building with 4 more classrooms is under construction. The pictures tell the story!

Classes of Grades 6-10 of the Yangri Academic are now being held in the new facilities. Once the remaining buildings are completed, k-5 will also move to the new campus.

the buildings have been designed with high functionality, cost efficiency and aesthetic features in mind. The materials are all locally sourced, and most of the construction workers are parents of students who are presently enrolled at the Yangri School.

besides classrooms, dormitory, buildings, dining Hall, kitchen, and accommodation for the staff will be built over the course of over the next 18 months. 

Construction of the Yangri School continues at reduced pace during the monsoon season. Currently, the focus is on kitchen and dining hall for the children who are boarders and live in the dorms during the week. Also, when the rain is making major construction simply impossible, we are busy building classroom and dorm furniture. Please refer to the pictures which tell the story best!

It is very in spiring that many of the construction workers and carpenters are locals whose children attend classes at the very scholl they are building. These parents never had the opportunity to go to school themselkves, but are now involved in the construction of the scholl for their children.
