Fund Finalizing 2021-22 Academic Year Scholarships

By Sherri Kabaou | Senior Program Associate

The first quarter of the 2021 saw the Havener-Dowswell Scholarship Fund working to finalize the specifics of the distribution, selection, duration, and size of its scholarships. This work is being done in preparation to make the first awards before the next academic year (i.e., starting in September 2021) to African women seeking post-secondary degrees in the field of agriculture.

In many African countries women represent 40 to 60 percent of agricultural workforce and are a key pillar in this system. Your support will have a broad impact, as these scholars will be able to apply what they have learned to improve agricultural practices in their communities. This will lead to increased production and incomes and will help address the issues of poverty and hunger.

We would like to thank all of you for the support you have provided the Scholarship Fund through GlobalGiving. For future updates on the project, please visit our website at Winrock International » Havener-Dowswell Scholarship Fund.   As we work to open a new chapter of the scholarship fund, we hope that you will continue to support us in the future.
