This project aims to eradicate environmental degradation and rural poverty in the Chimpa Alccassana community through large-scale afforestation.
Currently, in the Chimpa Alccassana community, the farmers are over-exploiting the already deteriorated environment in order to survive. This results in less fertile soil every year. Thus, both poverty and environmental degradation have been increasing in this community.
This project aims to raise funds for the planting of 30,000 trees. This large-scale afforestation will ameliorate the current environment, fight against global warming and improve the community's well-being.
The planting of 30,000 trees will not only help in the fight against global warming, but it will eradicate poverty in this community. After 15 years, the wood produced by a tree is worth a minimum of 100 dollars in the market, which means that these farmers will have incomes much higher than the country's minimum salary. By leaving poverty behind they will achieve a better standard of living.
