Children of the Night Global Tutoring

This project has been discontinued because we were unable to raise funds to support our global program. American donors prefer their donations stay in America.

This program was created in 2011 by a discretionary grant that allowed us to spend it on new programs.

Hundreds of children "at risk" were tutored in Tanzania, Kenya, Ecudor, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam.

We are very disappointed in the loss of this program. We taught hundreds of kids to Speak and Read English and to Score High enough on their country's math test to receive scholarships to boarding schools.

We would return to this project with adequate funding.

From our headquarters, Case Managers provide children 24-hour services, 7 days a week. We rescue youth from pimps, help with medical services, public health insurance, social security/disability benefits, maternity housing, drug program placement, domestic violence housing, transportation, mental health services, psychiatric evaluations or access to psychotropic medications, advocacy with the courts, social workers, probation officers, resume preparation, job placement, access to vocational or trade schools or community colleges, applications for FAFSA (federally funded financial aid)—we are ready and willing to help.

Young sex trafficking victims and children at risk often miss out on social programs available to them because they are unaware of what is available and are easily frustrated by the tedious applications required to access these programs. Our Case Managers are well-versed in the intricacies of the system and can provide step-by-step directions to ease the process. They provide application assistance, appointment reminders, accompany youth to appointments and even arrange transportation if needed. Our case managers are available every step of the way. Without this constant support and encouragement, these children will remain on the streets.

In 2023, Children of the Night Case Managers provided 4,516 Services to 391 prostituted youth nationwide.

Services ranged from food, medical, emergency transportation all the way to placement in vocational schools, trade schools and colleges.

Our work takes prostituted youth from the streets to the board room.

Since our meager beginnings in 1979 we have helped over 12,000 prostituted youth right here in the United States and we continue our 70% - 80% success rate.

Children of the Night WOW

Free Online High School Equivalency Program

Children of the Night WOW (With Out Walls) offers young people in shelters, drop in centers and outreach programs throughout America FREE on-line high school equivalency assessments, tutoring, and funding for High School Equivalency testing. We receive clients from the Goodwill of California, Social Workers, Domestic Violence Centers, Drop in Centers, Friends, Hotlines, Maternity Homes, Rehabilitation Centers and other shelters. In April 2016 we partnered with a trafficking shelter in the Dominican Republic to provide their young students with English and Math tutoring, and in 2017 we will being offering English and Math tutoring to shelters throughout Southeast Asia.

Between January 1 and April 10, 2017, Children of the Night WOW provided 3419 free online educational services to 243 clients in 18 United States and 3 foreign countries.

As of April 10, 2017, our WOW center provided the following services to 243 Clients:

FAFSA: 2
College Enrollment: 1

Online tutoring represented 94% of our calls and 7 of the 233 (3%) students in the United States have already successfully passed the High School Equivalency Exam – 13% of the number of students who completed High School Equivalency Assessments. Many of these other students are expected to pass the High School Equivalency Exam by the end of 2017.

Online students were spread across the globe, but significant numbers were as follows:

63% of the students were in California
14% were from Florida
5% Texas
3% Southeast Asia
2% Dominican Republic
