Term 2 is in full swing here in Mpigi and Wakiso, and we have good news to share.
This week, 12 children received new school uniforms for the first time this year. For Aisha, age 10, it meant she could stay in class instead of being sent home. See her joy in the photos below.
But 88 children still risk mid-term dropouts. School fees, uniforms, and books remain the 3 costs forcing parents to choose between food and education.
Your impact so far:
12 children now in full uniform, attending class daily
Fees paid for 8 students this term so headteachers let them stay
Books delivered to 25 students in Primary 4
What happens next:
With $3,560 still needed, we can keep the remaining 88 children in school through June. $36 = 1 uniform. $100 = 1 child 1 term. $100/month sponsors 1 child all year.
Thank you for keeping hope alive. Every day a child stays in class breaks the poverty cycle.
See the smiles for yourself
