Thanks to your generous donations we have been developing artistic and recreational activities for vulnerable rural children across the Colombian Atlantic region. This month, the children in two of our programs commemorated and celebrated Columbus Day with fun activities, along with their teachers and families, helping them create bonds and learn about the healthy development.
In our program in Plato in the Magdalena region, children and youth put on plays based on fairy tales, where they learned about history and the importance of being proud of ther community and ethnicity. This activities where carefully designed to highlight the importance of diversity in our country and amongst the children as well as the importnace of the healthy use of their free time.
Meanwhile in Pivijay in the north of the Magdalena region, we held the “Different but equal" activity was, where both parents and children had the opportunity to learn about the importance of the different ethnic groups in Colombia, instilling values of respect and diversity. The activities were aimed also to bring a message of non-discrimination especially in older children and teens.
Thanks to your generous donations, our organization has the possibility to provide opportunities for children and teenagers to educate themselves, become aware of the great ethnic diversity of our county and importance of heritage.
Education is an important pillar for the proper development of the personality in children, and so is creating healthy awareness of diversity adn heritage. For us; it is a great joy to perform activities of this nature, that make children want to learn playing and help them become better citizens.
Moreover, these spaces become a chance for families to bond, where they can have fun and share unforgettable moments, that will be kept in the hearts of children and parents forever.
Thank you for helping us build these memories with the kids and their families.
We’re sure they’ll keep them in their hearts forever.
