Pakistan was the sixth country in the world to sign and ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child, less than one year after it was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989. However, children and adolescents living in Pakistan still face acute challenges. SWF supports the United Nations Charter to accelerate progress for children, work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and help children realize their rights under the Convention on the Rights of Children.
SANASH WELFARE FOUNDATION works in some of Pakistan's difficult societal problems, to reach Pakistan's most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential. For every child, Hope! An average of 12 children per day, or one every two hours, were subjected to sexual abuse in Pakistan in 2023, a report by a nongovernmental organization says. Most of the abuse cases involved children between 6 to 15 years. high Child Abuse & Exploitation.
In particular, SWF aims to impact society; * Every Child's parents must get aware to do child protection. * Every Child's parents must get aware of child safeguarding policies. * Every Child's parents must get awareness about how to develop a safe * environment for their child. * Every child must be educated and learns for their protection, safety and external threats. * Every child must be protected from violence and exploitation from any individual (parents, close relatives or neighborhood).
Carrying out awareness campaigns on child protection and safeguarding can have several long-term impacts that contribute to the overall well-being and safety of children in a community or society. These impacts can extend well beyond the duration of the campaign: * Increased Knowledge and Understanding * Behavioral Change * Reduced Incidence of Child Abuse and Neglect * Strengthened Reporting Mechanisms * Policy and Legal Reforms * Institutional Changes * Empowerment of Children * Reduced Stigma
