Proposed Activities
a) Identify and select OVC committee members
b) Hold quarterly meetings with 80 child protection committees, councilors, police, teachers, local council authorities, on issues of child abuse, protection, responsibilities of guardians and parents, Child neglect, exploitation, child labour, early defilement, violation of child rights and discrimination
c) Conduct 75 community sensitization meetings on child abuse, exploitation and rights and responsibilities of children.
Hold 4 Quarterly meetings with child protection committees on issues of child abuse, neglect and discrimination
d).Develop and distribute 1000 IEC materials on child rights, child abuse and exploitation
e)Conduct 20 field monitoring visits
f).Carry out a baseline survey on defilement and early marriages
g) Conduct and support OVC 8 family sensitization meetings on child rights and responsibilities
a) Participate in the day of the African child
h)Train 60 school teachers and OVC committee members on the prevention and response to child abuse, child rights and responsibilities
i)Identify and train 50 child rights advocates
j)Form and support 60 child rights clubs in 5 sub counties
k) Train 70 teachers in psychosocial care and support to vulnerable children
ACTIVITIES IMPLEMENTED
Established and trained a child protection committee in one sub county
Conducted sensitization meetings on child abuse, exploitation, child labour, early marriage and rights and responsibilities of children as well as issues pertaining to defilement.
