Sonidos Para La Vida works intensely so that each student develops technical skills in their instrument, but we also seek to develop values such as discipline, support for their classmates, perseverance, respect for their work and that of others, among other things.
Recently, in June, we had the opportunity to present the first concert of the year, in which we were able to include for the first time many of the students who joined our orchestra this year.
In this concert we present soloists, small groups and the full orchestra. This was extremely exciting for each young artist because for many of them it was the FIRST TIME they had the opportunity to perform in that way.
The great value of this concert could be appreciated in several aspects: in the first place, there is the obvious, that is, the musical presentation of each one and the fruit of the work they had been doing months ago, especially in those cases with which we started from scratch. But another aspect of great relevance for us was the COLLABORATION that existed between all of us at the time of preparation. They all helped each other with their instruments, with the chairs, with the lecterns and even to verify that their classmates had the necessary scores. It was something exciting to see and that allowed us to enjoy the work even more.
Sounds for Life works to create many opportunities like these and we want to multiply the reach we have even more.
You can help us create more opportunities and open the door for music in the lives of many Guatemalan children and youth. Every time you make a contribution, you help us strengthen our work and be able to reach more children.
We appreciate your interest in our work and the confidence that together we can give better opportunities to all these children and young people.
