The project Changing Lives Bone by Bone will be implemented at Vitthalbhai Gatorbhai Orthopedic Hospital at Bareja. This project will provide good quality health-related services to those people who have orthopaedic, accidental injuries, trauma-related care, corrective surgeries and long term physiotherapy. The project aims to provide services to 2000 plus people every year without any charges or minimal affordable charges. The project will be a life saviour in accidental and trauma cases.
Road safety is a major concern nowadays. Road accidents have been increasing yearly basis. In Gujarat, last three years 21,529 persons died in road accidents, 46,146 persons sustained serious injuries in road accidents during the same period. This is a very serious problem which is completely unnoticed. The people who have an accident, need trauma care, and later stage they require long term care including physiotherapy. It is very difficult to get trauma care on National Highway.
The project location is very ideal for trauma care and aftercare services. The hospital is located on National Highway No 8. The ambulance and trauma care service will be available for any person who will have an accident on that highway, and also in villages nearby. The project will provide surgical intervention if required, and long term physiotherapy care to recover faster and completely. The project will help to provide immediate trauma care, surgeries and aftercare long term surgeries.
The project will help to set up a trauma speciality hospital. The hospital will provide orthopaedic care and treatment to poor patients who require long term care. It will also provide physiotherapy services to a poor senior citizen who requires long term services.
