Centro Bonilla continues to strengthen its commitment to the holistic wellbeing of communities in Jayaco, Bonao, and surrounding areas in the Dominican Republic. Through our Community Donations Project, we have worked to support families and children by providing essential resources that address both material needs and emotional and educational wellbeing.
During this period, we successfully collected and distributed donations of toys, school supplies, and other essential items for children and families in the community. Thanks to the support of donors, collaborators, and individuals who believe in our mission, we are moving closer to reaching our goals for community impact and program expansion.
The school supplies provided helped many families prepare their children for the school year with greater stability and dignity. In addition, toy donations created moments of joy, hope, and connection for children within the community.
Community Impact
One of the most meaningful moments came after our most recent community donation event in Jayaco. A mother shared with our team that receiving school supplies for her children brought significant relief to her family during a financially difficult season. She explained that, because of the support received, her children were able to begin school with the materials they needed and felt more confident, included, and motivated in the classroom.
Stories like this remind us that every donation carries a deep human impact. Beyond the items distributed, we are helping cultivate hope, support, and a stronger sense of community.
Progress Toward Our Goals
Our donations initiative continues to grow, and we are encouraged by the increasing community participation and support we have received. Through ongoing partnerships, outreach, and donation drives, Centro Bonilla is getting closer to achieving its goals of expanding access to resources and strengthening community support systems for children and families.
