If there is one thing Guatemalans are known for it is their resilience.
In the aftermath of two successive hurricanes right at the end of the season all hope seemed lost.
But, out of the mud and destroyed homes and businesses emerged a great effort to clean up and move on. There is still a lot of recovery needed but your support has helped over 200 families in the far east and in the remote northeast of Guatemala begin their recovery.
The funds were distributed to two local area charity organizations who work directly with the affected families and they decided, and we agreed, that going back to basics was the best place to start.
The funds are being used to support food baskets on an on-going basis and also to give the families basic cooking and cleaning supplies so as they rebuild their homes and their local economies they can eat and have clean clothes and a bath.
We appreciate your support and these folks are eternally grateful that you responded to the cry for help.
With love from Guatemala.
