Listening in This Moment

Listening in this Moment Guide and Webinar Series

Leading a nonprofit right now means making critical choices: How do you center your community's voice without putting vulnerable people at greater risk? How do you navigate deep political divisions while staying true to your mission? If you're feeling the weight of these questions, you're not alone. Nonprofit leaders across the country are telling us they need new strategies for this unprecedented moment: ways to listen meaningfully, act thoughtfully, and protect the communities they serve.

In response to this critical need, we developed Listening in This Moment, a comprehensive resource suite specifically designed to support organizations navigating uncertainty while maintaining authentic community engagement.

The initiative launches with the  Listening in This Moment Guide on October 15th, offering funders concrete strategies, real-world examples, and actionable frameworks for strengthening their listening practices with grantees and communities during volatile periods. This resource addresses the most common challenges funders face when seeking genuine feedback in high-pressure environments. We encourage you to sign up for our newsletter to receive a preview copy of the guide.

Building on this foundation, our three-part webinar series in November provides interactive learning opportunities that translate these concepts into practice. Participants will gain access to proven feedback methodologies, safety protocols for sensitive conversations, and facilitation tools that enable organizations to authentically center community voices even when operating under heightened uncertainty.

A Warm Welcome to Our New Board Members

We are delighted to welcome three exceptional leaders to the Feedback Labs Board of Directors: John Ferguson, Laura Maher, and Marvin Vilma. Each brings invaluable expertise and a shared passion for advancing our mission of transforming how organizations listen to and learn from the communities they serve.

The leadership of our new board members will play a pivotal role in steering Feedback Labs through our next phase of strategic growth and expanded impact. Their diverse backgrounds and proven track records in driving meaningful change align perfectly with our commitment to fostering a more responsive and accountable social sector.

We are grateful for their willingness to lend their expertise to our cause and look forward to the fresh insights and strategic guidance they will bring to our work. Their addition to our board represents not just an expansion of our leadership capacity, but a deepening of our collective commitment to putting feedback at the heart of social change.
