Q3 - 2023 Food Pantry Highlights

During the third quarter of 2023, the Community Empowerment Fund's (CEF) Durham Food Pantry supported 640 people by distributing 4,761.6 pounds of food! Each household received an average of 18 pounds per visit.
83.3% of recipients identify as Black, 7.5% are indigenous, 6.6% white, and 1.4% as Latinx. 39.5% of recipients are children, 55% are adults, and 5% are elders. 62% of all recipients were female, 37.5% male, and less than 1% non-binary.
CEF Members continue to be especially excited about receiving fresh produce and frozen meats. Members are able to access the Food Pantry whenever the office is open. Support through GlobalGiving is ensuring that we can continue to provide these necessary provisions throughout 2023. For the holidays, CEF will be distributing 75 turkey boxes with side dishes prior to Thanksgiving.

During the second quarter of 2023, the Community Empowerment Fund's (CEF) Durham Food Pantry supported 195 people by distributing 879.2 lbs of food! 79% of recipients identify as Black, 3% are Latino/a, 9% are white, and 9% identify with another race. 31% of recipients are children, 58% are adults, and 11% are elders.
CEF Members continue to be especially excited about receiving fresh produce and frozen meats and are enjoying the abundance of the summer farming season. Support through GlobalGiving is ensuring that we can continue to provide these necessary provisions throughout 2023. Members continue to be able to access the Food Pantry whenever the office is open.
