During the second quarter of 2022, the Community Empowerment Fund's (CEF) Durham Food Pantry supported 428 people by distributing 3,077 lbs of food! 83% of recipients identify as Black, 2% are Latino/a, 1% are Asian, 11% are white, and 3% identify with another race. 21% of recipients are children, 64% are adults, and 15% are elders.
CEF Members continue to be especially excited about receiving fresh produce and frozen meats and have enjoyed the abundance of the summer farming season. Support through GlobalGiving has ensured that we can continue to provide these necessary provisions throughout 2022. Members continue to be able to access the Food Pantry whenever the office is open.
