During the first quarter of 2023, the Community Empowerment Fund's (CEF) Durham Food Pantry supported 264 people by distributing 1,204.57 lbs of food! 78% of recipients identify as Black, 2% are Latino/a,11% are white, and 9% identify with another race. 24% of recipients are children, 62% are adults, and 14% are elders.
CEF Members continue to be especially excited about receiving fresh produce and frozen meats and are looking forward to the abundance of the summer farming season. Support through GlobalGiving is ensuring that we can continue to provide these necessary provisions throughout 2023. Members continue to be able to access the Food Pantry whenever the office is open.
