Our 2022 ended with an amazing photography project, that intended to explore the power of photography for community transformation.
In one hand, we created Cazucá Visual. It was a process of communitarian immersion in Cazucá, where 5 photographers worked with 20 young people from the community, through workshops, immersion experiences and collective empowerment. In this way, the 20 participants acquired skills and tools to build stories about their territories and to contribute, and desestigmatize it. Also, the photographers learned about ancestral, cultural, esthetic and social elements that are key in the dynamics of Cazucá. As a result, we had a beautiful exposition where we saw the talent of the 20 participants and the 5 photographers.
In addition, we created an exposition, which gathered the pictures of 40 national and international photographers, that supported their project with their artwork. Each of this artists, chose a photograph that showed the concept of the game : how it shows our everyday life and that can be a cultural manifestation. This exhibition allowed the audience to see new ways of telling different stories and meanings, such as Cazucá Visual did.
