At Tiempo de Juego, we keep creating intercultural spaces for our participants. This time, music was the highlight. Last February, we celebrated the Afroamerican history month with a music festival at Cazuca.
With the help of the U.S Embassy, we were part of a music festival that involved national and international artists: On one hand, we had the pleasure to receive Melissa McMillan in our neighborhood, a New York singer who delighted us with her jazz songs. On the other hand, "Plu con Pla", a band from Tumaco (at Colombian pacific coast), sang traditional songs and immediately made everyone dance. Finally, Fabrika, Tiempo de Juego's music band, played salsa, rock, and pop songs.
It was an incredible evening and a great opportunity for Cazuca's inhabitants to get to know the foundation's work and the children's results. It was amazing how people from the United States, the United Kingdom, and from all parts of Colombia came together to enjoy music and honoring African American history and culture.
