Client Success Stories
Anthony | Navy, O-4
Hired As: Surface Warfare Trainer
After a distinguished career in the military, Anthony faced a new kind of mission—navigating the civilian job market. Like many transitioning service members, Anthony quickly realized that despite his extensive experience, translating his strengths and skills into a civilian resume and creating a job search strategy was a daunting task. Determined to succeed, Anthony turned to Hire Heroes USA for guidance—and that’s when everything began to change. “Working with Xavier has been a great pleasure. He has been a constant link throughout my 12-month transition journey…Xavier and Hire Heroes USA helped prepare me with the foundational tools to confidently seek employment beyond the need for direct assistance” Anthony recounted. Anthony embraced the tools, resources, and mindset shifts Hire Heroes USA offered. He didn’t just follow instructions—he took ownership of his transition, turning challenges into opportunities. His confidence grew, and soon, he was approaching employers not with hesitation, but with a clear value proposition and a deep understanding of where he fit in the civilian workforce. Anthony accepted a position as a Surface Warfare Trainer and reflected on his work with Hire Heroes USA saying, “This resource is invaluable and means a great deal—knowing there are people who genuinely care about transitioning service members either through deep-rooted empathy or direct experience of their own.”
Kiley | Air Force, E-5
Hired As: Aircraft Mechanic
Veterans often face unique challenges when entering the civilian workforce, not because of a lack of skills, but because employers in the civilian sector are not fully versed on how to understand a veteran’s military experience. Titles, roles, and accomplishments can be lost in translation, making it harder for veterans to showcase their true value. This is what Air Force veteran, Kiley, encountered as she transitioned out of the military and into the civilian workforce. She shared, “Before working with Hire Heroes USA, I was struggling to translate my military experience and MBA education into a civilian resume that stood out. I wasn’t getting traction with job applications and often felt like my skills were being overlooked or misunderstood.” Our expert team of Transition Specialists act as coaches on how to navigate this unknown territory as well as translators to ensure a client’s experience is fully captured on a resume. Kiley connected with her Transition Specialist and said, “They took the time to understand my background, goals, and the type of work I was targeting. They helped me craft a resume that clearly highlighted my skills and experience in a way that resonated with employers.” Kiley was extended an offer for an Aircraft Mechanic position which she accepted. The Hire Heroes USA team provided Kiley with a resume and personalized coaching and as Kiley said, “made the job search feel manageable.”
