Annually, Hire Heroes USA serves the employment needs of thousands of unemployed/underemployed veterans, active-duty service members transitioning out of the military, and their job-seeking spouses/caregivers. We provide 1:1 career coaching, resume and interview assistance, expert mentorship, connections to employers and jobs, and wraparound referrals, significantly improving the employability of our nation's heroes and placing them on a pathway toward upward mobility and greater opportunity.
Each year, ~200,000 active duty, Guard, and Reserve members leave the military and must face the monumental challenge of transitioning to civilian life; however, 80% of them do not have a civilian job lined up. Veterans and transitioning service members often struggle to find meaningful employment due to a disconnect between their military skills and civilian job requirements. Their spouses also face barriers with employment history gaps and frequent relocations that hinder stable employment.
Hire Heroes USA's no-cost career services bridge the unemployment gap among veteran and military communities through 1:1 career counseling and assessment, resume and LinkedIn writing, interview practice, job search and placement support, skills training, and networking. This project also facilitates connections between clients and hiring organizations, training and credential providers, postsecondary pathways, volunteer mentors, and a wide range of social services providers for holistic support.
Our services have a lasting impact on the heroes we support, ensuring they obtain stable employment that fosters economic mobility, greater opportunity access, and family well-being. We have confirmed 85,000+ clients into meaningful jobs since our inception, resulting in an estimated economic return of $5 billion in first-year earnings. Our model not only empowers the heroes we assist but also contributes to the nation's economic stability and enriches the talent pool for employers of all sizes.
