To meet the job search and employment needs for thousands of those in the military and veteran communities, Hire Heroes USA remains committed to providing personalized career transition services, at no cost to the client. We continue to see full utilization of our cornerstone programs, including the Partnered Career Transition Program, Junior Enlisted Program, Women Veteran Program, and Serving Spouses Program. Each program offers individualized assistance to clients who receive tailored services and assistance, including 1:1 career counseling and assessment, resume and LinkedIn profile writing, interview practice, job search and placement support, skills training, and networking guidance. Support from GlobalGiving donors allows Hire Heroes USA to provide high quality services to each client with results that impact the lives of each client, their families, and the communities in which they live.

Success Stories

Kelvin, Navy, E-9

Hired As: Area Manager

With more than 25 years of military service in the Navy, Kelvin was ready for a new challenge. Deciding to transition into the civilian workforce, Kelvin began an independent job search. As he began to face unfamiliar hurdles, he realized that he wanted additional assistance as he went about his job search. He shared, “Prior to working with Hire Heroes USA, I was having difficulties translating my military service to the civilian sector.” In order to become a more competitive candidate, Kelvin decided to register for Hire Heroes USA’s free career transition services for US military members and veterans.  Upon registration, Kelvin was assigned to his Transition Specialist, Kayla. “Working with Kayla was nothing short of outstanding. From the first introduction until the final interview, she kept in touch and made sure I had everything I needed,” Kelvin said. Kayla partnered with Kelvin every step of his employment journey, empowering him to transform his resume into a professional, personalized document that showcased his many skills and abilities and helping him to stand out against other applicants. Soon after, Kelvin applied for and secured a position as an Area Manager in the retail industry. Kelvin highly recommends Hire Heroes USA to other military members and veterans, saying, “My personal experience with Hire Heroes was nothing short of outstanding. My counselor rapidly developed my resume and followed up continuously until I found, not only a job, but what looks like will be my Act II in life after the military. Her professionalism, communication, and genuine care cannot be overstated. She has set the example for all others to immolate.”

Emily, Military Spouse

Hired As: Decision Science Analyst

Military Spouse Emily wanted to find a new career that made the best use of all her different skills and experience, but didn’t know where to begin. She had found the job market to be over-saturated in her desired field, particularly for entry-level opportunities. She decided to enroll in Hire Heroes USA’s free career services for military and veteran spouses. Emily began working with her assigned Transition Specialist, who empowered her to create a professional, attractive resume that would help her to stand out to hiring managers. Her Transition Specialist also provided Emily with access to the various resources and networking events that were available to her, all of which she made great use, including Hire Heroes USA-created educational videos provided on MyTrak. Emily reported back that all of these tools and resources made her a stronger applicant. Soon after, Emily was able to secure a position as a Decision Science Analyst in the finance industry where she will be able to use all of her skills to the fullest effect while further developing her abilities and professional portfolio. Emily shared that, “I would say that my experience with Hire Heroes USA has been nothing but positive. It really opened my eyes to just how much support is available out there. Hire Heroes USA provided the education and network I needed to make a career change- I’m so grateful.”
