Bringing ACE Back For Spring 2027

CIW is still commited to providing optimistic career empowerment opportunities for minority students in the Fox Valley. We are preparing for our new ACE Program in the Summer of 2027.
This time, we hope to provide new workshops and new partnership opportunities, especially through our friends at the Fox Valley Tech where we will be hosting our event. We're looking towards unlooked at career path options, from Interior Decorating, a return to the metal shop or woodworking, a better depiction of programming, and other healthcare fields.
In addition, we're hoping to introduce our program to more school districts, particularly the Neenah Joint School District and the Green Bay School District if we possibly can.

Manager-in-Training 2026

Our Manager-in-Training Program continues to empower students with new job opportunities and job shadowing experiences that build their career potential. With our MiT Program, students sign up to join an exclusive three-day job shadow with Secura Insurance, visiting different departments and getting a hands-on look at the various skills and strategies used in the professional workplace from a managerial side.
This year we have received over 10 student applications, which we had to narrow down to half for our program. Each of these students show promise and potential, from using web-design and animation to support mission-driven organizations, to cybersecurity specialists looking to grow their career. Moreover, students that participate in this program have the opportunity to work for Secura around the end, making a good enough impression to potentially become full-time employers when the time is right.
We're looking forward to seeing what our student's will accomplish. Next year, we plan to reshape MiT into something new and innovative, that can allow for a better spread of students with job shadowing opportunities across the state of Wisconsin.

A new ACE experiment

As our next ACE Program for Appleton School Districts approaches for the Spring, so to does a new experimental structure for ACE, which shortens the time from a full-day program to a half-day program, and brings some new stuff for students to gather excitement for potential career paths.
The shorter time frame allows us to see our students at a more speedy capacity, allowing for them to experience two 45 minute workshops for two career fields that have proven popular in previous ACE events. Once the students have completed those two workshops, they are then given a guided tour of the Fox Valley Tech Campus, with a selection of program offerings and a look at the different stations the school offers.
A large reason for this change is logistics with the school districts as well as to allow us a chance to balance out program management for the other ACE events with other School Districts. Time will tell whether this new approach will work for us or not.
