DAYCARE REPORT: AUGUST, 2012

1.  ADMISSION

We had admission as follows as the following previous month:

Month                                     No. of kids

July                                                20

August                                            9

All kids admitted are at the age of below 21/2 years. We are progressing well with our baby class; children can now read sound, numbers and picture reading.

2.  DAYCARE FLOOR:

We thank you (Global Fund Group) for making it possible in finishing our baby care floor. It’s now looking very lovely. It has reduced the energy to clean it because it’s smooth.

3.  INCOME AND EXPENDITURE:

Month                         Income                        Expenses

July                              30,200                         22,569

August                         25,281                         17,300

Having an increase of kids in the month of July as made us have a little interest in that month. During the month of August, kids did not attend for day care much because it was a school holiday, which made the young kids remain at home under the care of older siblings.

4.   ADVERTISEMENT:

We still advertising for our baby care and baby class during this session when school are being opened after August holiday. We are also taking this opportunity when public school teacher are on strike, to encourage parents to bring their kinds for care in baby care although older siblings are still at home looking for them.

5.  FEEDING:

We still feed kinds with porridge (milked) twice a day and balanced diet meal for lunch. We are still offering them with fruits and eggs.

6.  STAFF:

The daycare facility has 3 staff members:

2 - attendance/cook.

1 - being the teacher of the baby class.

I also take the role of administrator to budget for the baby care and ensure that everything is done in order. Our administrator withdrawn from work since July, that’s why I do take his role because we have not yet received another.

7.   CHALLENGES:

Difficulty in paying staff during the month of August because it’s a holiday for school children which parents opt to keep kids home under care of their older ones.

As a teacher I have urge responsibility which sometime kids have to go untaught in order to handle administrative activities because we do not have administrator.

Delaying in paying of fees by parents which makes our operation to delay.

  1. 2.      CARE GIVER.

My name is Maureen a mother of a six months old baby Wittney Huston. I have benefited from the project because apart from been one of the care givers my daughter has been enjoying free day care services, conducive growth environment, security and motherly love as am able to breast feed her and be close to her, I also enjoy good working environment and  hope that my baby grows with the project.

  1. 3.      BABY CLASS PARENT

My name is Alice a mother of a three years old girl, am one of the old parents and beneficiaries of the daycare project as my daughter Atieno has been in project since she was three months old she is the prefect in babyclass. As a young single mother am able to concentrate effectively in my work without having to worry because my daughter is in save hands. Am looking forward to seen the project growing beyond kindergarten.
